Construction Inspector II

The City of Fairborn is accepting applications for the position Construction Inspector II.  Starting salary range $47,382 - $56,076 with excellent fringe benefits.  Construction Inspector II is responsible for skilled technical work in the field of construction inspection of residential and commercial projects.  A high school diploma or GED supplemented by technical course work in the field of construction or engineering as well as three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in construction or an equivalent combination of education along with training and experience.  Building and Construction background is preferred.  MUST be certified by the State of Ohio in two (2) or more fields of inspection (i.e., building, electrical).  A City of Fairborn application must be completed either in person or printed off the City website at www.ci.fairborn.oh.us with  signature and must be received at the Human Resources Office, 44 W. NEIGHBORHOOD INSPECTOR

(Seasonal)

Salary range: $12.75-$13.40/hr. Starting salary $12.75/hr. Position is designated seasonal and is expected to work up to 40 hours per week with the possibility of overtime. Responsibilities include enforcement of property maintenance and zoning codes including inspection and abatement of nuisance issues, tall grass, trees, litter and sign code violations. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively handle difficult situations is essential. Minimum qualifications: a high school diploma, GED or its equivalent; experience in code compliance is desirable; and a valid Ohio Driver’s license.

Plumbing Inspector 

City of Kettering, OH, seeks temporary on-call Plumbing Inspector to assist, as needed, in providing back-up coverage conducting inspections for compliance with the Ohio Building Codes and Ohio Plumbing Code. Works under direction of Chief Building Official. Ideal candidate will hold State of Ohio Plumbing Inspector certification or acquire within 4 months of appointment. Mechanical or Building Inspector certifications a plus. Inspects residential/commercial properties, and prepares necessary records, reports and citations. Must be proficient in interpreting building specification and construction documents to insure code compliance. Plumbing trade experience, excellent public relations & communication skills and ability to work with limited supervision required. Must have valid Ohio Driver’s license & good driving record. Pay range $21.22 to $33.01/hr.
